Facts

The platform SPORT VALUES CHANNEL offers twelve European policies in the field of sport, which were basis for the project entitled EU Sport Values Diplomacy. They address a topic of social Inclusion through sport values and reflect priorities of the Call for proposals 2021 – EAC/A01/2021, Key Action 2 (KA2) - Cooperation among organisations and institutions.

The platform is designed in light of small-scale partnerships requirements to widen access to the programme to small-scale actors and individuals who are hard to reach in the fields of sport. It contributes to the creation and development of transnational networks and to fostering synergies with, and between, local, regional, national and international policies.

Contribution of the platform SPORT VALUES CHANNEL to the priorities of the call in the field of sport is in increased awareness of the role of sport in promoting social inclusion, equal opportunities and a healthy lifestyle. It provides a deliberate, evidenced based and practical mechanism in integrating sport with social inclusion.

The European policies in the field of sport, which the platform offers to the general public are following:

• Council Recommendation on Promoting health-enhancing physical activity across sectors, 2013
• Council Conclusions on maximising the role of grassroots sport in developing transversal skills, especially among young people, 2015

• Council conclusions on sport as a platform for social inclusion, 2017
• Tartu Call for Healthy Lifestyles, 2017
• Council Conclusions on promoting the common values of the EU through sport, 2018

Platform SPORT VALUES CHANNEL strives achieving effective educative and social outcomes. Its inter-sectoral contribution to the priorities of the call is in better understanding of practices, policies and systems in education, training, youth and sport across countries in line with approved EU strategic documents.
